Biography of Pastor Marcus McDonald

Early Life and Education
• Pastor Marcus McDonald is a native son of Corsicana, TX.
• He moved to Fort Worth in 1979 with his parents and sisters, receiving his education in FWISD public schools, graduating from Green B. Trimble Technical High School with honors.

Theological Studies
• Pastor McDonald attended engineering schools at Texas A&M University and the University of Texas at Arlington.

• After answering God’s call to the preaching ministry, Pastor McDonald attended Southwestern Theological Seminary to strengthen his biblical acumen and scholarship.

Family Life
• Pastor McDonald has been married to his intelligent, beautiful wife, Vera, for twenty-nine years.
• God has blessed them with two wonderful children, Kendall and Zachry.

Ministry and Service
• Pastor McDonald has been a member of The New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church since 1990, serving in various areas of ministry, including Youth Director, Evangelism Minister, Young Adult Fellowship Chair, and Church School Teacher – joining the ministerial staff at his call to the preaching ministry in the year 2000.

Banking Career
• Pastor McDonald had a career in the Banking Industry for twenty-eight years, working as a Teller, Banker, Branch Manager, and completing his years of service in banking as a Regional Sales Consultant – partnering with Regional Senior Management and District Managers to execute consumer and business customer strategies.

Ministry Path
• Pastor McDonald served as Assistant Pastor for ten years to Pastor Isadore Edwards, Jr., at The New Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church.
• After the retirement of Pastor Edwards, Pastor McDonald served as the Interim Pastor for a year and was selected as full-time Pastor in 2017.

Ministry Focus
• Pastor McDonald continues to preach and teach the centrality of the Gospel of Christ and the authority of God’s Word.

• The aim of Pastor McDonald, in ministry, is to preach and teach the Truth of God’s Word in efforts to position God’s people for spiritual growth and maturity in Christ, by agency of the Holy Spirit – to the glory of God, the Father.
